  • The literal meaning of “Qur’ân” is “recitation.” Its revelation took about 23 years to complete. It was revealed upon the Prophet  through the Angel Jibra’îl  beginning during the month of Ramadân. 
  • Sûrah Yâ-Sîn is the “heart of the Qur’ân.” Sûrah ar-Rahmân contains the most number of repeated âyât: 31.
  • There are 87 Makkan and 27 Madani sûrahs.
